The expression of posteriority is not only linked to temporal values, but
also to aspectual or modal ones. In Spanish there are different forms that can be used
in relation with this notion, such as the future tense ending with –ré, the structures
and or the futurate use of the
present. The aim of this article is to show that the meanings of these forms are partly
overlapping, so that as a matter of redundance it leads to a reorganisation of the
system. This assumption constitutes an innovative approach, for most of the studies
account for this issue from a synchronical point of view, even when it certainly
reveals the dynamic properties of the language.
