The ideational dimension

Abstract

The objective of this article is to understand the link between the ideational dimension and policy networks. For this, we present the main approaches that the ideational dimension had in policymaking and policy processes, highlighting its role in the dynamics between actors and its relationship with actions, interests, and power. The results suggest that the ideational dimension determines the degree of cohesion of policy networks, as the ideas of actors call for a consensus and the sharing of objectives and visions.
