Mesianismo judío en los comienzos de la iconoclastia, c. 720-723

Resumen
En los años previos a la adopción de la iconoclastia como la interpretación ortodoxa del cristianismo, se observa un resurgimiento del mesianismo judío. Del análisis de las diversas tradiciones contenidas en las fuentes se desprende la influencia que pudo tener la escatología judía en la decisión de apostar por un cristianismo libre de reminiscencia grecorromanas que se ajustaba más a una interpretación judeocristiana.
